What This Site Stores About You
Browsing theHeytea.com requires no account and no personal details. You can read every page, use every calculator and plan a whole week without giving us anything.
Three features do store something, and each is optional.
Ratings
Rating a drink stores the star value, the item and a timestamp in our database. No name, no email, no IP address and no account is attached, so a rating cannot be traced back to a person. Your browser separately remembers which items you have rated, so the stars stay locked and you are not asked twice.
Comments
Posting a comment stores the text, the page it was posted on, a timestamp and the name you typed. The name field is optional and defaults to "Guest". Do not put anything in a comment you would not want published, because comments appear publicly on the page as soon as they are posted.
The Contact Form
A message sent through the contact page stores what you wrote, the subject you chose, and your name and email if you supplied them. Both of those are optional. Messages are readable only by us and are used to answer you and to fix whatever you reported.
Browser Storage
Several features remember things on your own device using localStorage. None of it leaves your browser, and clearing your browser data removes all of it.

Advertising
This site carries display advertising, which is what pays for the work. Ad networks use cookies to measure and, depending on your settings, to personalise what you see. We do not receive your identity from them and we do not pass anything to them about you.
You can turn personalised advertising off at Google Ads Settings, and opt out more broadly at optout.aboutads.info or optout.networkadvertising.org. Ads will still appear; they will just be less targeted.
Spam Protection
Comment and contact forms show a Cloudflare Turnstile widget. It checks the browser rather than asking you to solve puzzles, and it processes technical signals under Cloudflare's own privacy terms. On this site it is deliberately non-blocking: if it fails to load or does not complete, your message still sends.
Hosting and Analytics
The site is served as static files from Cloudflare Pages. Standard server logs including IP addresses are handled by the host as part of delivering the page, in line with Cloudflare's own policies. Our database is hosted by Supabase and holds only what is described above.

- Clear your browser data to remove every locally stored preference.

- Ask us to remove a comment or a contact message you sent. Get in touch and tell us which one.
How Long Anything Is Kept
A rating or a comment stays until you ask for it to be removed, because the whole point of it is to be readable by the next person who lands on that page. There is no automatic expiry.
A contact message is kept only as long as it takes to act on it. A price correction gets checked against the source, the menu data gets updated, and the message itself is no longer needed after that.
Preferences held in your own browser are not held by us at all and never leave your device, so they last exactly as long as you leave them there. Clearing your browser data removes every one of them and nothing on our side changes.
Where the Data Sits
Ratings and comments live in a hosted database, and pages are served from a content delivery network with servers around the world. That means a request from you may be answered by a machine in a different country from the one you are in, which is how essentially all modern web hosting works.
We do not sell anything stored here, we do not trade it, and we do not run a mailing list to add you to. There is no account system on this site, so there is no profile being built up visit by visit.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect anything from them. If you believe a child has posted something identifying, tell us and it will be removed.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, the effective date at the top changes with it. There is no mailing list to notify, so the date is the record.
