What HEYTEA Rewards Will Not Do
The programme is worth joining, and it is worth understanding what it does not cover, because several sites describe features that do not exist in the US app.
There is no paid tier, no subscription and no monthly drink plan. Several chains in this category run one and HEYTEA does not, so anything describing a HEYTEA subscription is describing a different brand.
Points do not transfer between accounts, and they do not combine across a group order. One person pays and one person earns, which is worth knowing before volunteering to put a round of six on your own card.
The programme also does not change prices. Every US shop charges the same for the same drink regardless of account status, so a rewards balance is a rebate on spending you have already done rather than a discount on what you are about to buy.
The largest saving available on this menu is still an ordering choice rather than a loyalty mechanic. A skipped topping saves more per cup than the earn rate returns, and the discount page works through the arithmetic.
